I did a review of the Pullman after staying there in August 2011.
See: http://www.btf-archives.com/archive201109/27885.html

On speaking at length to the Operations Manager at an inhouse Cocktail Party that we were invited to, he admitted there had been early teething problems & numerous delays leading up to the opening. Certainly though, from my conversation & observations at that time, the hotel seemed to be running like a well-oiled machine.

I particularly enjoyed the 'newness' & up-to-date decor of the hotel, its convenient location & those fab ocean views. I really do recommend it highly!!

It is ironic that you have just stayed at the Royal Beach Seminyak. We are staying there over New Year (with a group to celebrate a special birthday - 5 Deluxe rooms booked!)

Whilst in Bali in August, we walked through the grounds of the Royal Beach & viewed the room type we had booked. We were shown a room on the ground floor, Anantara side. The rooms looked ok, quite spacious but not as swish as the new Pullman we had just come from. To be honest, it was a bit of a let down - though I had been thoroughly spoilt at the Pullman with an upgrade to a suite & of course the Royal Beach is older. Ceratinly though, the Pullman looked to be of a 'higher standard' from my brief viewing of the Royal Beach, though 2 very different hotels.

The Pullman Operations Mgr had commented on how dated the Royal Beach is now & that it is due for an upgrade in Feb 2012.

Am interested in your comments regarding the Royal Beach. We have booked a deluxe room on the garden pool side, thinking this may be a little more quiet & private than the Anantara side. Any thoughts regarding positon of room.... 1st/2nd floor? What room type did you stay in?

All comments & advice on Royal Beach welcome.

Hope my comments on Pullman have been helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ruby
