just a little discretion is all that is needed. I got sick of seeing families bringing their own pizzas, hamburgers, beers, soft drinks, potato chips, sandwiches etc and sitting around the pool or at a table at the hotel restaurant that SERVED the same food, then leaving their mess for the staff to clean up. It;s mostly ignorance from some who think because they have a hotel room, they can do what they like around the rest of the property.
Buy a couple of beers and take them to your room, drink your own spirits and full meals on your balcony, then there is no problem.
