It would definitely be best to check with your gp before you go as these symptoms could be brought on by numerous things. Eg, just a change in diet might mean some different "movements" but not necessarily any bugs.
If it worsens, it could be by a 'nasty' as the cause, but different bugs will need different treatments so it is hard to say. Your gp may just give you a broad spectrum antibiotic as a back up emergency, but you'll need to check with them. You may find it piece of mind to take some gastrolyte in the ice block tubes for your children, available at most chemists in Australia. They are good for rehydration if required. Also be sure to keep plenty of fluids in them in general.
If in doubt, seek advice of a doctor when you're there - plenty of good one's - some who's names you'll find in the archives.
Some 'prevneter' treatments you can use yourself, number one - plenty of hand sanitiser and hygiene. I generally make my kids use it before they put anything near their mouth when overseas/or not near handwashing facilities.
Also, yakult is good to have every moring, but best started a few weeks in advance of travel... nevertheless, its cheap as chips in Bali and still worth taking every day.
It is suggested that raspberry concentrate is great for keeping common bugs at bay such as e-coli which are supposedly killed off by raspberry juice or raspberry juice cordial diluted - try and get one with reasonably high concentrate. If you check this forum archives, depending on the state you're in you find suppliers in your area.
Take some everymorning with breakfast and you should be good.
The main thing is, don't let worries like this get in your way of having a good holiday!! Enjoy yourself, have some general plans in place and deal with any issues if they arise.
