We took the pool saleswomen's word that she was the owners wife.

In fact she is the wife of the head of security (manager/owner) and a dreadful woman at that and despised by some of her staff.

The current owner/manager usually sits at the end of the bar whenever he is attendance and more often than not drinking with his cronies, who sometime fight with each other in the bar/dining area in front of geusts.

This place plays heavily on the fact that it has Aussie management. Not much use if that manager is siiting at the end of the bar and not occasionally walking the corridors noticing things like room service place left stinking in corridors. Which then in turn attract vermin that infest the rooms.

The codition in the rooms are quite disgraceful considering that the place is less than five years old. This may be due to the fact that they are so busy that maintanence doesnt have time to get done.

Grot like pooey finger prints on walls, snot and boogies on walls/curtains/doona covers etc, god know what on the remotes, unclean cutlery/crockery, crockroach crap in the cupboards and mouse droppings on the floors, all point to poor hygiene and cleaning, which may in turn be due to poor management.

You may well maintain your appartment spotlessly. However, you neighbouring appartments are likely degrading at a faster rate. There are signs of rising damp, poor plumbing, white ants and what appears to be large structural cracks in the rest of the building. So not matter how fantastic and awesome the Baldie cave is if the rest of the place turns to crap around you, so much for your wise investment.

Any holiday place in the South West of WA would cost and be worth at least ten times whatever your LEASE cost you. Very astute unless you dont reckomn you have another 20 years in ya.

For the owners who are Australian residents there would be tax implications for their foriegn sourced income for any rent received. You personally are probbably OK as you state you own one unit and stay there but easy for you to piss off the wrong people and bring a lot of people around you down.

Baldie you are one of the strangest fellows I have ever come across. I don't know how old you are but I am suprised that you got to that age with your inate ability for such a wally.
