I sponsor a child through the Helen Flavel Foundation, which is located in the north of Bali around Lovina/Singaraja. I pay about $140 a year and that pays for all education costs.
When I first signed up I was sent a photo of little Agus, and I also sent him a couple of letters to which I received a reply and a couple more photos.
I just had the privilege of meeting Agus and his family a few weeks ago on a holiday to Bali. I also visited the Learning Centre which does a fantastic job for the local community. It was the highlight of my trip.
It is very satisfying knowing that my small contribution is providing an opportunity to someone else. Sometimes I think I get more out of this sponsorship than little Agus does!! :)
