I agree with you BUT.
Rest assured: There are no corrupt deals or sleight of hand in the support to the orphanage in Amlapura. The donated cash is spent in company with the carer in the supermarket in Amlapura for the basics.
I have never been asked for money and know of no donors who have.
I also agree that would be donors should be aware and do the homework before parting with any donation.
