We bought ours from Carrefour (not a twin tub)
Sorry cannot remember the cost but was not too expensive at the time.
Would have to say they probably don't wash as well as ours at home
Your local friends may in the end prefer to wash as they normally do
Also have to take into account access to running water, electricity costs and wattage into the house
