If you read the very fine print on a bintang bottle, it has wordage that translates to "Can be up to 5% Alc/Vol". the alcohol content in bintang varies considerably depending on demand (lower alcohol = quicker ferment out) and what market it is for.

You may notice that sometimes you get a kick, sometimes you can drink it all day and not feel a thing.
