How difficult is it to get gluten-free food in restaurants & supermarkets in Bali? A friend with gluten intolerance is a first timer to Bali in June. I have never noticed gluten-free products in supermarkets - no doubt because I haven't looked. It'd be good if she could have some safe snack things while the rest of us girls (aka old ducks) are scoffing Breadtalk etc.
She will be spending a week or 2 in Ubud - any info on places she can safely eat there?
Should she carry a card saying she can't eat certain things? I want her first trip to Bali to be lovely & as easy as possible for her. It will be her 60th b'day (she is waaaay older than me - LOL) & any recommendations for a great place in Ubud for a b'day dinner that serves gluten-free food will be appreciated.
