Departure taxes

We, the family are arriving in Denpasar via Jakarta, we were told by our travel agent to go through immigration in Jakarta as this will save time etc, do we then have to pay a departure tax to go from Jakarta to Denpasar or are we classed as "in transit" the same applies on the way home, unsure if we need to pay both domestic as well as international departure tax. Thanks
