I have just got off the phone to a member of Jibaku and would like to give you a truer version of events:
- A local lembongan guy arrived drunk at Main Ski on Friday night wearing a Jibaku tShirt, at closing time, demanding drinks. The staff felt intimidated and phoned security Jibaku who came to the scene. The local guy was not a member of Jibaku. They spoke to him and tried to calm him down and get him to leave the hotel. Security believed that he had left and so departed themselves. However the local guy returned and started swearing and creating a scene and waking up the patrons.
- The gun involved was a slug gun and did not inflict serious damage.
- The gang is not known to go on drunken rampages and the only member that receives free drinks is the leader, none of the other members would ever expect or ask for a free drink.
- Jibaku provides a security service to many hotels and establishments on the Island not only western owned. There is only one policeman on Lembongan and if real trouble occurs they can be very helpful backup for this one loan police officer.
- Jibaku are not there to create problems they are in Lembongan to solve problems and ensure the island is a safe and happy place for us all.
