On my last trip to Bali I noticed an ever increasing use of lemons or limes being rammed into Bintang bottles. Why anyone would wish to ruin the taste of a perfectly good lime amazes me.
My real concern is that beer bottles are recycled from info received.A mate found a part of a lime in a fresh Bintang after noticing the odd taste. This will occur more often if the old 'ram the lemon in the bottle trick' continues.A squeeze of lemon should suffice but those who have no consideration for others may continue with the unnecessary practise of ramming the rind. Some establishmets charge for the alien additive, maybe all should.
It's like keeping up with the neighbours, need to do the same as others.
Let me hope that this yuppy habit goes as quick as it came. The problem is newcomers probably follow others thinking that this is a must do.
While I post this Mary MacKillop is on tele so who knows.
