My recent one and only encounter with Flight Centre means I too will never go near them again. I was gullible enough to believe them when they said they could get accomodation cheaper than the net, which as it transpired ,they couldn't. Then the agent insisted we pay our accomodation in USD five months before our holiday despite me asking several times to pay it later as the Oz was in a real dip relative to the US and predictions were it would rise. The agent actually lied to me that the villas were hassling her for payment or our booking wouldn't be secured. Later admitted that this was not true as the villas website stated only 50% initially and 50% 45 days before residency which I've since found to be fairly standard. They claimed they lied to protect us as the costs were subject to change. Would have saved us hundreds of dollars to wait a while.
To add insult to injury they failed to provide me with any proper receipts after we had paid in full. She sent me cut and paste bits of email conversations between herself and the villas which didn't state what we'd paid nor what the inclusions were. I couldn't quite believe the tardiness. Eventually got these but not before having to make a complaint and making many ph calls. So stressful especially, when I know how straight forward it is to make your own reservations.Lesson learnt.1
