2000 and they were not individual franchises then and I could be wrong but I don't think they are now either. As far as I am aware Escape Travel is the franchise wing of FC. I can say that Flight Centre are very much driven by the almighty $$$ and pressure is put on consultants to meet targets. I would never go through a travel agent now - it is so easy to book flights, accom, transport, tours, insurance etc yourself. I do it for all my trips to Bali and have done it for UK/Europe as well. At least that way you can search around and find pricing that you are happy with
