go this time of year as it is our major school holidays in Aus (Dec, Jan). Have had some extremely heavy showers but at most times during the night. Even when it was during the day the kids and I just went to places like the water bomb park as it was still very warm just wet. Even now without kids, I have still booked to fly out on the 1st January 2011. One year went in July and had more rain than I had whenever I had gone Dec, so go and enjoy yourself.
