I have done that flight a lot of times, you must be there at least 2 hrs ahead, I also always pre book seat but they are an airlines that you do not muck about with, also they are spot on with weight for checked bagage and also what you take on board, in saying that it also depends on who you get. Have a great trip I am off on 25th July with AA as well.
