I am not fluent, I can speak SOME bahasa. I am not the sort of person who expects everywhere I travel to speak English, I have always expected to have to try to learn the local language. That's just common courtesy. I'm not good, but I am learning, I think it's simply a matter of respect. BUT,how many woman do you know who would have their hair cut and coloured by some who they cannot understand and vice versa? In my home town, MOST of our hairdressers are multi lingual. One I know of, speaks at least four languages.
