Cont.
Because this was an interim short trip, I had decided not to try to do too much, and restricted purchases to some sunbrella covers for our patio lounge at KTH.
I sorted these on Sunset Rd. and went with the Sunbrella material, in spite of the relatively high cost compared with local fabric.
Cost was around 1.8mil for three squabs complete, two for "normal" chairs and one a double (three squabs total)
I have not seen the end results, but my old friend Dennisc, tells me that they look good.
A bit of bad news on Dennis....while we were there, he suffered a virus, whereby he forgot who and where he was, and had difficulty standing.
Local specialists diagnosed Mabuk disease, but not being an Indo speaker I am not able to translate, but he certainly looked pretty bad, and was off the Bintang for a while!
This trip, I decided to bite the bullet and go in search of the Tree of Knowledge, and seek guidance from the Guru....Bloodyron.
Ron runs a strange business.
He seems to take the opposite view of those who openly promote and advertise their businesses, and actively "hides" his business by changing the name, and paying locals to send searchers the wrong way!
Finding him was harder than spotting a Tiger at the LCCT, and it has now dawned on me that this was a ploy to try to avoid me as we have had violent BTF disagreements in the past.
His ploy was thwarted however, as I confronted him after pulling him from some thick bushes where he said he was doing up his shoe laces (without shoes on??)
Anyway, my good wife and I joined Ron at the tree, alongside the BRE, and we paid appropriate homage, until we all saw the light.
After seeing the light, we all piled into the rental, and off to the "Cavern", where BR used his Sanur influence to make us life members, which means that John Lennon has to buy us a beer if we ever meet him.
We then went on to a beach bar, and I must say that it was a great day, and I especially appreciated Rons parting remarks, when he said "Sod off and don't come back"!
During our travels through Sanur, we only ran over one pensioner, so regarded this as a result!!
The only bigish night out, aside from one in fine company at UNS on the last night, was at "Living Room".
Personally, I would rather eat at the Bedroom, Kitchen, Foyer or pretty much anywhere, but a mans got to do what a mans got to do.
Nice surroundings, but very ordinary food at exhorbitant prices in my view, and I far prefer Ultimos.
It cost us AUD100 for a couple of ordinary meals with a couple of beers and a cocktail.....not for me I'm afraid.
If anyone is interested I will post briefly on our departure and couple of days at "Tune" hotel in KL.
