Okay good flight from Adelaide departed & arrived on time.Unfortunately because the trip was bought to my attention at the very last minute duty free was not discussed. The girls had never been OS before & knew absolutely nothing about it or how it worked so got nothing. We have all been young once & inexperienced. They will know better next time.
They landed on time in Bali & Aunty Colleen had said when the plane lands, grab your hand luggage & don't dilly dally -- so they were 3rd in line.Straight through with $25 in US notes.Immigrations & customs were quick, after all they had no duty free or anything to declare. They knew to look out for porters & said a very loud American woman exclaimed " Oh there is my bag as it came onto the carosel & within 5 seconds three porters appeared from no where & had grabbed her suitcase.
The girls had been told to grab a trolley from the end of the airport past all the carosels so as one watched for the bags the other went for the trolley.Within less than 30 minutes they were outside BUT with absolutely NO sign or their expensive pre arranged transport. They were - hell they were scared shi ---- by now.No idea how to get to their hotel, where the hell are we? How far from our hotel ? Gee we didn't exchange money inside, how do we get phone credit & contact Colleen ? Oh hell, our driver is not here. Why did we ever come here without our family ? These are the exact words the girls said to me were running through their heads.I am sure other parents could picture their own kids in this situation.
A nice female taxi driver took pity on them & phoned the Troppo Zone hotel & probably said " Where the hell are you,2 young girls have paid for transport,1st timers & you are not here " Another 20 minutes or so & they finally arrived at the airport to pick them up.The girl's had been warned about the sights, sounds & smells. They still could not believe how many people could fit on a motor bike.
Well next thing is check into Troppo Zone - fun begins.Sorta okay place, definately not a young person's party hotel, dead as door knobs, might have been a lively place or clean in the past but is truly gone past it's use by date.Good al la carte breakfast, dirty rooms.Absolutely disgusting filthy bathrooms to the extent of pubic hair & urine stains & smells left from previous guests in the bathroom. The girls didn't even wanna sit on the loo without toilet paper on top (girl's will understand ).The bathrooms at Troppo Zone grossed them right out.
