Hello all I am sorry for the delay in my JBR but with Christmas and everything....
We had 2 amazing weeks in November staying at the dynasty. We had 16 people, 7 adults and 9 childrn ranging from 5 to 16 and we had the best time. It is very quiet and the locaqls are asking tourists to come back they desperately need us, They are all looking after the tourists really well. We got to know a number of local shop keepers and taxi drivers and they are doing it hard.
We all staggerred our arrivals with our family being the first to arrive. Our plane out of Perth at 815 am didn't leave to about 930 but that was ok. We arrived to a blistering day, 39 deg and very muggy!
Ahh the Bali smells! beautiful, we had transfers included which were great. We got to the hotel and asked about our room, we had had many problems getting the new studio room so when we got there to check, we still didn't have it, they were happy to uprgrade but we had a 2 hour wait. So we decided to go for a walk and reaquaint ourselves, my last time was 4 years previous and hubby was 15 years, the kids had never been but were very excited. It is a lot diffrent, cleaner and the locals didn't seem to bad except for the timeshare hawkers outside of Discovery plaza. Hubby unfortunately filled one out and we had numerous calls over the next two weeks.
Lots of great shopping around the dynasty.

Our room was gorgeous we were very happy. We had breakfast included in our package which was great, ate huge! The grounds are magnificent and the pool excellent, we were to spend many a "happy Hour" at the pool bar with various buckets! The food was lovely, they do a different theme each night, the Italian and satay nights were great, the kids tried more food over there than they ever have here! They also very quickly learnt how room service worked!
We had very nice massages at their spa and around the pool. The kids got their hair braided at the hotel for 100 000 each (both have long hair). Some of the kids got henna tattoos there as well, our kids had no problems but two boys who were brothers and had tanned skin both got badly burnt and would have scarred.

Once everyone arrived over the next few days we did a lot.
We went to the Bali zoo which was great for little kids but be careful my 9 year old gotten bitten on the leg by the lion cub, he was very lucky it only broke the skin a bit but he had a wicked bruise for a couple of weeks! The zoo is very nicely done and the staff were lovely. Look out for Jacky the orangutan who likes to throw things at you and has a good, strong aim.
We did the Bali Safari park which was great, we had limited time so didn't do the tour but was told this was the best bit so will go again. Their water park is a great way to cool down.
We went up to Mount agung and had lunch and visited various markets etc on the way, Malik took us all over the place and it was beautiful

We found an amazing drive who happened to be on standby at the dynasty

We had a really enjoyable time, I can highly recommend the hotel especially with kids, the staff are gorgeous and really looked out for the kids fantastically, we never had a moments worry. The guys played volleyball each afternoon, some days with the staff and it became quite an obsession.
The pool boys were absolutely gorgeous we had a hoot with them. The kids club, my kids only went twice and they loved it the staff are so beautiful, each of our families had children with special needs of some sort, a couple can't talk very well but you never sawll the staff got to know us and whose kids belonged to who and they treated them like family.

We got photos done at the hotel with Johhny cash and johnny they were gorgeous highly recommend them.

We ate out at a few restaurants, at first i was a little nervous being on the streets at nght but that soon passed, we ate at Bubba Gumps a couple of times ,which was great, great food, great staff and great $,highly recommend the chowder! Hard rock, very expensive. Mini's seafood across the road from the dynasty and up from the Ramada hotel which was gorgeous. Pasta Fiori near waterbom .There was a restaurant next to mataharis I don't remember the name but it was gorgeous.

Shopping good a little more expensive than previously but still good. We got the kids those 2 gig superchips for their DS which are great, come with 25 games cost 700 000 at softcomp in discovery but you can load more games on, they haven't put another game in since, they ere selling the outside mataharis for 650 000 but they couldn't guarentee they would work and the softcomp girls let us try them on the kids DS before we took them, we haven't had any problems. Heqps of DVDs and had no poblems with customs at all, all have been good quality so far, the soft comp and mega disc girls looked after you well. They quite happily told us which copies were good or not, if anyone from Perth is going I am desperate for good copies of Twilight and Australia if you can help me out.
Dede at Baligong in legian is a good friend, he sends DVDs over to australia if anyone is looking for soemone, tell him megan and donna sent you.

Well will post more later
Hope you enjoy
Meg
