Back again, forgot some things.
Wanted to say how much we enjoyed the dynasty again, we met some fabulous aussies had great fun around the pool bar. Apart from one family whose older kids were a bit obnoxious everyone was very friendly. My children made lots of friends as did we. My daughter took part in the fshion parade that the have on monday nights OMG diva in the making! who knew a 7 ear old could pose like that!
The staff were amazing, I think they really like the aussies who treat them as freinds rather than staff. So many asked if we were from Perth because we smiled so much! How can u not smile in Bali?
Malik took us to Makro,(like FAL) everything from food to beds to tvs to seafood, not far from the hotel towards the airport diretion I think. Great place to stock up on food and cool drink and the Bintang is really cheap! We also went to the quicksilver outlet somewhere near here as well. Malik said it was cheaper than Billabong. They had really nice stuff, the kids got wallets for about 25000 and shirts, the men got some nice tshirts as well.
We were all a bit dissapointed with mataharis this time didn't seem to be as much choice.
Ramyanas was great, daughter got her graduation shoes there for under $10, beautiful silver slip ons with bling. We also got a lot of aby clothes for friends for just a couple of dollars each. Bras are excellent value there my girlfriend bought about 30 pairs! My girlfriend and I got some amazing refexology in one of the little shops although
We loved Discovery Centro whatever it was called, Softcomp was great and the frogs store where they sell fake crocs was great value. The bakeri here is to die for!
We took our own portable dvd player for the kids, in our room we had 2 big screen tvs but only one dvd player. ours coulod connct for the tv and it was very valuable for son with autism when he needed chill out time
We had a lot of success when we figured out how to space our time out, the kids liked shopping but only a bit at a time and definately needed chill out time and pool time so being flexiable helped alot. Also having so many people meant we could go off and do our own thing in many combinations so we pretty much got all acheievd that we wanted to. We really felt like we got out to a lot of different places too.
We were going to go to the treetops adventure park (rope courses, flying foxes etc) on mt agung, we didn't realise it would take two hours to get there so didn't leave till about 11 on the way up we did many stops sob didn't get tto the top till about 2, Malik then told us they don't have food there so we stopped at a really nice buffet restauraunt overlooking a crater lake. by this time we couldn't be bothered going so decided to go back, the kids were not impressed! Oh well another thing for next time. We did stop at some markets and temples on the way back which was good. On the way up the mountain on the side of the road there was a bloke who had bats, snakes iguanas which you could ge all the photos you wanted for 50 000, we were happy to pay this as there we 12 of us at this stage and we could all hold them they were very tame, not tied up or anything he said he had had them as pets for many years. They all looked in very good condition. the kids were stoked.
Will keep thinking and fill you in on more later. Enjoy.
