the two cafes at blue lagoon were holding full moon parties when we were there, which the younger ones seemed to like. i don't know what it was like before these restaurants were set up, but it seemed pleasant and clean enough, just was too rough at the time we were there to swim. the blue lagoon accommodation is higher up and unobtrusive and seemingly unfinished. there was no rubbish on the beach.
the other beach to the south which ron talks about has the ugliest , hugest retaining walls and holes and nothing else because the development has been forced to stop. if you just face the beach and don't look back or sideways you'll be ok as the beach itself seems unaffected. but gee, the currents and waves were dangerous, kat
