Not all the beaches in the Amed area are black stone.
You need to pass through the more touristy village of Amed itself and carry on another few kilometers. There are 4 lovely sandy beaches [ a mix of golden and volcanic sand]
The first is at Lipah bay where there are a few small hotels.. Coral View, Hidden Paradise, Pondok Vienna, Bayu cottages.
Next is at Lean, where there is just Life in Amed
Next is Selang Beach with Good Karma and Blue Moon Villa
The last one is in front of Reincarnasi bungalows.
Lipah has become slightly touristy with offers of massage etc but is still a million miles from Kuta!
The other 3 are as yet unspoilt.
All have fantastic snorkling directly from the beach.
I love this very lovely coast of Bali.
If you want to stay in beautiful scenery inland.. I also think Munduk is extra special.. with cool clear air and no hassles.
