I've decided we really must economise on our Bali trips. Last year we went 4 times for a month each time and really even I must admit it's a bit excessive.
Thus, in the interest of fiscal responsibility in the light of the dollar woes and general economic gloom and also taking into account our carbon footprints, here is my plan.
This year we will go only 3 times. Yes you read it right. What a selfless sacrifice on our parts don't you agree. I think I detected a a communal gasp of amazement or awe or something.
We will stay 6 weeks at a time though in order to make the airfares really cost effective so the time on the ground will be the same. I calculate the savings as follows, 2 airfares, 2 visas, 2 departure taxes 2 taxis to and from airport at each end and 4 expensive airport meals. That adds up to....adds up to....a bloody great fistful of savings is what it adds up to.
Not only that, apparently eating beef is a big factor in global warming due to cows excessive farting and we plan eat very little or no steak in Bali. Then there are those saved flights and taxis so our carbon footprint is shrinking like a new tee shirt in a laundry in Bali.
