Ubud with family

Hi all, I have a wonderful friend who is a frequent visitor to Bali, and after chatting to her , she suggested we take in a few nights at Ubud when we come over next year..( family of 4 , 2 kids, 8 and 11)...we plan on staying mostly at Kuta / Legian, and have heard the Melasti is good, , wondering if anyone has any info on Ubud and family accom as we are very keen .
