pool safety for kids-tips?

Ok we've got the floaties and delivered the lecture but mum (me) still getting heebie-jeebies over all those pools without fences.

Anyone got any other tips re little ones around the pools?

Youngest has just turned four-cant swim but generally "enthusiastic".

Any whizz-bang new safety gadgets or equipment I dont know about?
