I have been staying at this chain for over a year and have difficulty booking in if not two or three months in advance.
Well I emailed to book only last week for the Muslim holiday period and they have vacancies. When I asked why it was not busy I was informed that the cost of the rooms had been raised by 50% over that period. I will never understand why the owners would do that, if it was to cater for the domestic market it is surely negative as those tourists do not spend money either in the restaurant, spa, or the bar.
One would assume that to cater for those who frequent the hotels and utilise the facitlities on a regular basis would be treated with a little more respect and not have this thrown in their face.
I contacted a new hotel up the road and although the price was raised it was only by 10% so now I have a new hotel at which to stay.
It makes one laugh as when things were tough all hotels were screaming out for your business but now that things are quite, or extremely busy they really do not care about people who have supported them through those awkward times..
Those of you who utilise this chaain my think I am being a bit harsh but honestly do not bite the hand that feeds you. It is nothing short of GREED.
