I have spent the afternoon converting hotel prices from US$ into AUS$ only to be shocked by the increase. What is even more shocking is how much they are charging at a basic hotel this year which is more than what we paid at a top class hotel last year! I am staggered at how high the hotel prices are and what's worse, we want to go in April '09 and the new prices haven't even come out yet! I have been informed that, as you have said, it could be as much as 50% increase at the place we want to stay at. That makes it totally out of our price range and now I am, very sadly, having to rethink if we can afford to go. I am looking at other hotels but have to wait for the new pricing to compare. So, with the increased cost of flights for a family of 4...... it's not looking good. I am happy for them that it is busy over there, and we love going to Bali, but the last time we went may just be the last time.....
