A great idea to hire a Car. I have started driving about a year ago and love the freedom to explore that it brings.
I would suggest an Avanza or similar and not a small 2 door as the roads around the East coast can get quite rough and bumpy in a small car. Trust me I know this from experience...lol.
When you hire a car it is the one fee. I usually pay 150 000 - 175 000 per day for the Avanza depending on the length. This is unlimited km's but doesn't include insurance. I have car excess on my travel insurance.
I use Augus from the rental place across the road from Warung Yogra and have done for many years but you should get the same price from any company. Suri Wathi might even be able to arrange it.
