were doing the fireworks thing in Aug.-Sept. last year on the beach in front of the MBR. We had the Banjar Police come and asked us not to buy anymore as the Japanese were frightened it was bombs going off. The police were very nice about it all and said they just wanted to please everyone holidaying Bali. We had a week of fireworks enjoyment but was a pity as the more expensive fireworks were really great and beautiful. The Kuta Karnival was on at that time so was understandable that some people might have been frightened.
