I can understand how people would be afraid if they didn't know what was going on.
The kind my Dad used to let off when I was a kid were just small, quiet, colourful ones. Probably half a dozen at most.
Nothing like the 500 packed into newspaper in the first story!
Sounds like lots of fun though, I'm glad it all turned out OK :)
