no orphanange I have ever been to has been offended at the clothes, some new and unworn, some secondhand, but all in fantastic condition, which I have taken to give to children who would otherwise go without.
In fact, each time I have done this I have been encouraged to bring more next time, and the childrens faces light up in delight when they are given some new clothing amongst other things.
No, I dont come on here and rant about any good things I have done. If people ask, I am happy to give them the info so that I can encourage them to go themselves, but I do not promote anything that I do.
And as for giving donations to organisations, I am sure that plenty of people do that, and that is absolutely fantastic, however I am also sure that plenty of people actually enjoy going to orphanages, playing with the children and talking to them, and leaving them some gifts.
I doubt that children receiving necessities such as clean water, milk, nappies, hygiene products such as soap and sanitary pads, as well as clothing, teaches them to be beggars. All of the children I have met in orphanages go to school and generally request school supplies as one of their necessities. I think that you will find, depending on the country and situation of course, that many beggars are doing so on the instruction of others.
I think that you are talking about 2 very different things - going to an orphanage and providing some help to the people running it as well as the children is very different to handing over 50,000rp on the street.
At the end of the day though - what difference does 50.000rp really make to you or i.
