As I said everyone to their own and I'd love to see the response from the manager because its certainly not how it is. You have put some poor soul of going to a beautiful hotel and then recommended Novootel Nusa Dua. Thats high rise (for Bali) not nearly as "charming" and you didn't actually give this lady correct info. There is a wonderful kids club as I have already said...there is no way the front desk would've implied differently. Perhaps they were just trying to placate your coplaints but they would never say that there is nothing for children because its simply not true. If as you say, you satyed on the other side of the raod you wouldn't have seen the kite flying, the sand castle contests the glass bottom boat ride etc etc etc. Yes the trop terrace is more but the std rooms are not at all expensive so when you add the add cost for trop trrce you are still not paying a huge amount.
As for breakfast...eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast, mie or nasi goreng, japanese, cold cuts, salads, pastries, cereals, fruits, yogurts, bacon, sausages has browns...what else could you want?? You complain there is no Indonesian..its an international hotel. They cater for everyone.
