Just arrived back from 5th trip to Bali. It was the holiday from hell. Stayed at Penninsula Beach Resort. Very nice accomodation. Very dissapointed in the surrounding areas. Usually stay in Ramada Bitang much nicer. Arrived on Saturday afternoon. Breakfasts nice but not very exciting. Actually miss the beach sellers. Tried restaurant across the road for dinner, not good. Went for dinner to hotel beach restaurant. Just finished eating entree when large rat ran beside the table. End of dinner. Husband became very sick on Tuesday morning, had to call doctor Tuesday night. Staff at hotel very helpful and Doctor very prompt and helpful. He stayed in bed until Saturday. I was unwell from Wednesday couldn't get out of bed on Thursday so dizzy. When we did eat it was room service and it was very mediocre. Nyepi day on Friday would have liked to have gone and seen the parade, couldn't get out of bed. Went to beach on Saturday arvo had nails painted. Passed out while doing this, must have affected the standard of the manicure. (On previous visits I have my manicure on the beach evry day and really enjoy it). Flight left 00.20 by 7.00 couldn't stay in hotel any longer so dragged ourselves to Matahari to go toy shopping for Grandson. Paid to wait in Prada Executive lounge at airport not thrilling but okay. Husband became sick on the plane again. And to top it off we had the same movie there and back Enchanted. Was very surprised at how dirty Nusa Dua is and the amenities around the hotel were so basic. Really dissapointed in this holiday and it will be a while if ever we go back. Husband still unwell.
