I have not posted here before but have read the forum for many years and met many forum members.
While I agree that smudge has done a wonderful job over the years escpecially in the Munti Gunnung area. Many people are under the impression that smudge has done this work all on his own and funded by himself and your donations.
This is not the case. While he does contibute much of his time freely he has been funded by Southern Cross Bali Association until recently.
It is interesting to read on the Yayasan Peduli webpage "A team of volunteers has been providing assistance to the people of the region for the past 7 years" as YP had nothing to do with that until the last year. Also "In one case a child was flown to Perth to have corrective surgery for his feet". This was completely funded by SCBA and alot of fundraising events were held in perth and are continually held to raise funds for these projects.
I think that many people believe that smudge funds and organise these treatments himself, either personally or through donations, and while he is the representitive there in Bali he has a full team and committee members that work together to accomplish these tasks.
There are many people and organisations that need assistance in Bali. Please just because smudge is now working for Yasayan Peduli please don't abandon SCBA as they also have many projects to finish.
Just some facts about me. No I am not a member of either of these groups. No I do not have a grudge against smudge and in fact think he is a very generous and loving man. But I do spend more time in Bali than here and I do see and hear many people talking about these groups with the belief that smudge is a "one man band"
Donations can donated to many groups.
