I tried to come home Friday but my name wasn't listed (long story). So I got hubby to change me to Saturday via Melbourne (thanks for the info regarding the airport everyone- made it easy).

We were prepared for takeoff and the 2 seats next to me were empty. I knew the flight was full. Next minute a couple came running down complaining about their grog being taken. I asked if hey had bought it in Bali. They said some of it. They had duty free from Australia and Arak from Bali (I'm assuming not duty free). They said the staff were smiling about the grog they were going to get so they smashed it all.
Hence the holdup.

The flight went quickly as I put the shades on and slept for a while.
Arrived in Melbourne at 7.30. Long lines for customs but it moved very quickly. Got bags quite fast then lined up for customs. There were 2 lines. They opened up a 3rd line and sent people down to the new line but there was a lady standing in front of our line (not bags just standing) asking questions so we didn't get to go. Of course that was the quick line. Anyway I missed my 9am flight.
I should have asked to be let forward but I don't like doing that.
I got to domestic at 8.45 checked in the auto checkin but they wouldn't check my bags in (need 30 minutes before). Lucky I asked and didn't just line up. So I had to go to the desk and change the flight to 9.30. By now it was nearly 9.00 so I was panicking that I would get to the checkin by 9.00. The lovely checkin lady took me straight up to a desk.
The 9.00 flight left 15 minutes late anyway due to a passenger checking his/her luggage in under the wrong name. His her/partner had checked the baggage in. That flight was near full
I was lucky. I was in business class with no-one sitting next to me. It's so nice. They address you personally by name, give you juice or water before departure (in glasses) and give you the paper.
Breakfast is lovely with real crockery. By the time you read the paper and have breakfast you are there. Thank you very much!

This is a bit backwards. I'll report on the rest of my trip this week (before I go back to work).

I had a great 19 days even though 30% of the days were raining all day. I got home just in time for the BBQ at my house with all the family and some of my daughters friends. She's now working at Ayers Rock and was home for the weekend. Hence my need to get home on time.
The nice thing was I didn't have to do anything (that's a first). Very relaxing. It was so great to see her. She's only been gone 5 weeks.
Then I had to drive her to the airport this morning. I slept like a log and was startled when she came in at 7am to wake me.
More later about- Sanur, Marine Park, massages (not much else) LOL
