that luggage is NOT xrayed at SOME stage during the loading or unloading you must also believe Oil Companies are not ripping the motorist off! Let me assure you, if a bag goes on to an aircraft then pretty good chance it gets screened by xray somewhere along the line.
As for it being chosen because it may be 'expensive' I have seen too much variety for that to be the case. Likewise, how on earth could anyone tell if it was a "first timer's" bag?? Do they have a special tag that we have not heard of?
Be assured, in this day and age every bag has a chance of being checked, and with the world the way the world is.. lets get 100% checking done if it saves another 9-11 or similar.
