After checking all the many past posts on atm/currency exchange options I am still undecided on how to do the money thing. We would rather not travel around with lots of cash so would prefer to do more atm(with VISA) card withdrawls. However, still not clear just how different the exchange rate is between an atm and cash with a money changers. Can anyone give me a more specific number of rupiah difference between the two. Please, no advice like "don't worry, Mate, just go with whatever you are comfortable with." I realise that but I just want to make a more informed choice. As for the airport, is the atm accessible before leaving immigration so that I can withdraw rupiah to pay the VOA? Or would it be advisable to pay the VOA with cash? Thanks .
