Bali Zoo

Anyone been to this place which I hear is on the way to ubud, never been but just listeninf to evening radio here in Perth and a guy who owns and runs Peel zoo near Perth is up in Bali trying to save Bali zoo and the near village from going bankrupt!! I'm going to Bali in a week but if anyone just back has any info would love to hear what you know?
