You are checked when you arrive at the Denpasar airport for fluid exceeding 100ml, this includes water bottles etc and many were left at the initial xray. Once you check in your luggage, you can proceed via duty free to the gate lounges. As you enter the gate lounge your hand luggage (and if you had purchased alcohol, perfumes etc) is again xrayed and any fluids exceeding 100ml are confiscated. You then proceed into the gate area and you get body 'touch/pat up/down' and your hand luggage bags are all searched.
