When we flew back a few weeks ago, I have to say that the line was slow! We were there just under 2 hours before our flight. A tonne more people came after us and I did feel sorry for them and the long wait ahead (I will also mention that the line to actually get luggage x-rayed and into the airport was short when we arrived but soon after was quite long). So, with the odd shuffle forward every now and then, it felt like we were never going to get to the counter.
But when we did get near the counter we realised WHAT some of the problem was at least ......... it was people who were over the limit, taking stuff out of there bags and re weighing the bags, then taking more stuff out of their bags, and then re weighing again!!!! Imagine if every 6th person was over the limit and went through the same process - you would need to be at the airport 4 hours before just to make sure you made it to the counter before the 1 hour cut off :-)
That being said - we would have probably smiled at a 4 day delay - I wonder if it is cheaper than the cost of officially changing your flight to extend your stay .... mmm now im thinking ....
