This is my Just Back And Depressed Report

Just back from 10 nights at Dewi Sri hotel. Arrived in Bali on the 13th September flying Garuda from Perth. Went in a group of about 10 people, cousins, friends etc.

First impressions of Dewi Sri was that it was ok but I prefer Matahari Bungalows myself.

Didn't get up to too much. First couple of days were shopping all day and partying at the bounty all night. Bought heaps of shoes from Ramayana in Denpasar....especially these really cute thongs going out for $2!! Bargain so I snatched up about 10 pairs in different styles. Also got heaps of babies clothes for friends back home......don't know what happened here in Perth in March/April but all my friends are due to pop out their babies in December, about 5 of them! Mmmmmm in my mums family they are all born in june/july. They say that the years they were born in coincide with my pops footy team winning the grand final.haha so they were all conceived in Sep/Oct after the grand final....but I haven't quite figured out what happened in April other than easter.

Bounty was full every night I went out. Usually stayed downstairs for the 2 for 1 drinks then headed upstairs to party. One night my friend, her mum and I got a little too tipsy and I ended up slipping over on the way to the toilets..i was so embaressed I had mud and crap from the dance floor all up my legs........but the worst was on my way back to our table at the exact same spot I slipped again! Was so embaressed and thought gee must be time for bed if I cant stay upright so my friends mum and I headed home.......we ended up getting transport on a bike back to Dewi Sri which is like only a 5 min walk but hey....looked so funny 3 of us on 1 bike...all we needed now were some chickens and a baby on the front and we would've looked like real locals.

Met up with Shauna (inmyblood) she is absolutely gorgeous but has had a few hassles with not having half her stuff there as they wouldn't allow her to talk all her cases on the plane. So she randomly choose two and they were the two full of jordys toys!!! So she has no hair products, not much clothes, shoes etc...if anyone is going over and can help her out I know she would be so grateful. It would be a real blessing to her.

Smoking.......what is it with bali and smoking??? Every time I go I say this year I am not going to smoke but somehow I end up smoking then come home and have to go through two weeks of withdrawls, being a cranky arse to everyone around me and eating chocolate to replace my nicotine cravings...huh you think I would learn. I had given up smoking for 6 months and bloody took it up again so now I have to go through quitting all over again and it is driving me crazy....seriously. My hubby hates smokers and I can understand but the first few days back I am so depressed about being back in the cold and not having someone to clean and cook anymore I need to have a few puffs.....so like a bloody child I try and have a quick one in the shower and blow the smoke up into the air vent....haha.... but, my husband came in the other night unexpectedly.... so I dropped the smoke and quickly stepped on it. He knew I was up to something and kept telling me....move your foot! I'm like why whats wrong......he says move your foot so I try and scoop my foot over the drain pushing the butt down it .....phew! it worked but today iv'e decided I gotta quit cant keep doing that. Fells like I'm 16 again.

A bad experience I had this time was with my nana. One night she was sitting by the pool having a coffee when she said she felt ill. She ended up passing out, convulsing and throwing up every where. She was rushed to BIMC. The Doctor saw to her and he said to keep her in would be $1000 aus approximately so I said no worries. I stayed with her on a fold out bed all night. The service and staff were gorgeous. The next day they said that she had to see a specialist which would cost $150 us dollars and would I consent to that so I said yes. Then on the day they said she could leave I had checked her out and went to pay the bill and it was over two times the amount I had been quoted. I said I wouldn't pay the bill as I hadn't authorised any other treatments. They said don't worry about it you pay and then insurance will cover it but when I told them the insurance wouldn't cover this as it was a pre existing condition they all kinda looked at each other like ooops. The staff wouldn't let me leave until they bill was payed. I had previously changed my nanas ticket so she could fly home that night. By this time it was like 6pm and she had to leave for the airport at 8pm so I was taken into a side room where a lady was so nasty to me I was in tears, we came to an agreement that my nana could go back to the hotel but I had to stay until the bill was payed. They ended up allowing me to call the first doctor who quoted me $1000 and he said to me on the phone that the bill should be no more than that plus the $150 us.....nothing should've been added on without my consent. ...but they wouldn't accept that and told security would have to escort me back to my hotel where I would have to hand over my passport.....isn't that the number one rule to never ever give anyone your passport.......so after heaps more tears and calling my mum in Australia to find out what I should do she rang my uncle who was at the hotel and told him to come over to the hospital and help me out. He surrended his passport instead. That night we rang insurance and explained everything, they were absloutley brilliant and helped me out so much. They eneded up speaking to my nanas doctor in Perth and approved payment so it was all covered by insurance. Since she has been home they have even made a couple of phone calls to check up on her and make sure she is still ok! So now people I have spoken to said if anything were to happen I should go to Sangalah Next time as they have international doctors aswell but is like a third of the price of BIMC.

Ate at Indo national as I hadn't been to their new place yet....was so yum and great prices as usual...the new place is great so much bigger and still it was packed every night we went there.

Met smudge and was supposed to go with him to munti to see the people he helps so generously. Took a heap of stuff to donate aswell. But on the night before I was supposed to go had a few problems with the family and my nan and couldn't make it....was really disappointed as I was so looking forward to going. If anyone has stuff to donate please let him know as he is truly doing some wonderful stuff and when I was at his place he was doing up bags of rice and food to take, he had a young girl with T.B he was allowing to stay at his house to help her, I'm sure any donations of clothes or cash would be appreciated heaps.

I saw a lot more street kids this trip than usual. It breaks your heart to see some of them that have such heavy eyes and look so tired. You hear stories that people say oh they are so rich and make heaps of money begging etc but on the chance that they may really need it I couldn't not do anything. But I didn't want to give em money so I'd take them over to the circle K and buy them a drink and something to eat. You'd get to see the ones who really needed it as they go for the noodles and water not chocolate and fanta..haha.

That was about all that happened other than walking, swimming and eating. Now I just need to book another ticket to go so I can get my high back and start counting down....its the only cure for the bali blues.
