Hello,
Its been 4 years since my Wife and I have had ANY holiday (and this includes weekends away) so this January we have decided to bite the bullet and definitely go away somewhere. However here is the crux of the problem- where to. After exhaustive reseach we have narrowed it down to either Phuket or Bali. I am leaning towards Bali for a number of reasons including we've never been and I can go surfing, while my Wife is leaning to Phuket because we've been it's their dry season she likes the people its nice etc...
Because its been so long since we've been on holiday we really want to stay somewhere nice where we will be made to feel special, on a beach, near enough to everything like restaurants and bars if we decide but good enough to stay in at when we want to as well - without paying an arm and a leg. There are plenty of nice looking places in the brochures but I figure asking people who've been is better, I like the look of the Padma for example but that could just be due to good marketing.
Also if there are other "girly" things my better half could do so I could convince her that would be great. I know I'm asking a lot but hey the first holiday in 4 years is a fairly important decision to make and I'd hate to spend the money and feel unsatisfied, or worse feel if only I'd done this...
