A friend of mine recently had same problem going in and coming out of bali she took some beads and pearls she had purchased last time she was in bali to have some necklaces made for friends and family they tried to confiscate them at customs in bali said she couldnt bring them in she stood her ground and insisted they be given back was a bit dicey there for awhile! On way home same thing pulled up again said there was a tax on jewellry and silver now in bali she would have to hand over all jewellry or go downstairs to office and negotiate the plane was about to leave so she handed over 50,000 rupiah and was allowed to go through the custom guy put money into his pocket she had never struck this happening before seems just recently!Anyone else had same experience and how did you deal with it?p.s.beads also show up on scanner looking like tablets they practically held her at gunpoint till proven otherwise!!!!
