I lost my Motorola Raz V3 in Bali which at the time was about 9 months old. I used One cover travel insurance.

I went to the tourist police, made a report etc. Did all the right things supplied copy of original purchase which was $986.

When I returned home I went and purchased another Motorola V3 which had dropped in price and cost me $585 to replace and $60 for the leather cover.

I was refunded for both the phone and the leather cover for the entire amount I claimed - $645. Their cap on replacement of non-specified valuables was $750.00. There was no query about depreciation. Also, I do 'buy out' the excess on the policy which is an additional $20 roughly. cheers ;-)
