Day 11 Tuesday, Today Ketut will be going to work so leaves me alone again but I'm feeling ok as I've just had two days with my beautiful Ketut. We are up early Ketut going to the bathroom to shower and get ready for work me I get up so I can spend a little time talking with Ketut before she gets into her Taxi, for the trip back to Denpasar.
After Ketut is out of the shower I ask if she would like some brekkie but she tells me no thankyou no time, I'm not happy she will leave without eating but we did both eat very well the last two days and I give her a little money to get something on the way.
As we wait at the front of the Camplung Mas hotel we talk and I hold her in my arms again telling her how much I have come to love her and how important Ketut has become in my life! (Sorry if I chased any guys away again this time) But hey I'm just telling you how it is for us. I know for Ketut her English is pretty good and I tell her this all the time, but she does say to me that at times there are things she would like to say to me that she can not say in English, and as yet my Balinese and or Indonesian is not very good, so I have a couple of books and a computer program so one day we will converse in both Balinese and English.
After Ketut has left I go back to bed till about 8am till I get up shower and then head down to brekkie. Today I am off to Denpasar just to look around at a few things that may bring opportunities for me to stay in Bali for an extended time in a couple of years. I have been very lucky to meet some very nice people in Bali (locals) and they have helped me in many ways.
After returning from Denpasar I decide its time for food, after all there are so many places to eat here and today I am going to Bali Aussie, as I've said its looking a little run down and tired but the staff and service is still great. It is very quiet here since being here in December last year when most of the place was full today at 1pm, no one but me. Food is good and I go with an old favourite here which is the Surf and Turf its prawns and steak with chips and salad. You will get a very good size meal here and although this meal is enough even for me I forget since last time and order garlic bread as well. Has anyone else ever noticed that you can order garlic bread at six different places and you will get garlic bread that's different in every one? Different in the type of bread and the amount of garlic they use? Me I just love garlic could not cook with out it!! (Yes I can cook)
I have no need to be anywhere soon as after all I'm on holiday so I have a couple bintangs before heading down Melasti Street towards Legian Street. When in Bali I walk much more than I would if I'm at home and it's the best way to see and experience Bali. The streets are very quiet and funny fine that I'm not getting hassled as much as you would think being how few customers the stallholders have to sell to.
Not that it bothers me I'm not getting hassled as it gives me the opportunity to enjoy walking into many places and just look, I'm a person that hates shopping but here in Bali I do shop and enjoy talking to the Balinese, and if I'm not rushed or hassled I feel more like buying. Heck I'm doing my best for the economy that I can. I'll bargain then give big tip but hey! Its fun seeing the smiles on the face of the stallholder that you're buying from just wish there were more people here.
It's a fair way but after about 20 minutes I find myself in front of Paddy's, not going in as this is to early and no one inside so its off again and I finish a little while later near Kuta square at a Balinese friend's manager at a shop called the Kiki shop, not to be confused as I was with Bali Kiki, both are on the same side of the road that leads off Legian going towards the Hard rock hotel and just before the Kuta square turn off.
Danny was happy to see me and asked how long have I been in Bali. I tell him just over one week but have been busy with my girlfriend Ketut and Alan. We go into his shop and sit and chat about life in Bali and how things are going for him and his family. After buying a couple of t-shirts for my son I head off again down to Matahari shopping centre and go inside to cool down in the air con before getting a Taxi back to the hotel.
Tonight I'm not going out to dinner but going to the Cyber Café to check email then back to Camplung Mas for a quiet dinner before a few drinks with some new friends from Melbourne that are father and daughter, and related to a lady that I have met several times here at the hotel in the past two years, Camplung Mas is the kind of place where you will meet people on many trips here which I find great. The daughter has a jewellery shop back in country Victoria and has told me of some of her buying trips so far. Also about how my Silver is very good and price wise not far off wholesale well am I smart or what? Yeah I hear you saying or what? LOL
Well about 11 I head off to my room to watch a DVD and sleep tomorrow I am going to pick up my new glasses from down at Centro.
