that cuddling kissing etc should be kept for the bedroom. You will see many same sex (hetero) people holding hands or with their arms around each other, this is none sexual and is quite acceptable.

They make allowances for us Westerners in this and many ways in the tourist areas but CBB is accurate in saying it is really not good etiquette.

I laugh to myself occasionally as I stroll down to the beach chairs hand in hand with my massage lady who has ran along the beach to meet me because I bet newbie tourists assume I'm gay which I'm not. Luckily it doesn't bother me if people do make that assumtion because I don't think being a lesbian is a negative thing. Actually when I used to drive a taxi it happenned all the time in Aussie too. I suppose with very short hair, a little too much weight, specs with black plain frames and behind the wheel of a taxi I am such a stereotypical Lesbian that I am in fact more stereotypical than any genuine Lesbian I know!!!

I always remember the look on an American tourist's face as I walked along Jln. Padma some distance behind my husband who had "Tom Cruise", a then very young watch seller, draped around his shoulders!!
We had a good laugh about it afterwards but come to think of it I never told Tom Cruise what the guy so obviously thought. He's a married man and father now, recently returned from the Haj pilgramage.

Hmmmm I've been waffling on again. Oh well.
