I've also posted helpful tips like everyone else here on this problem that yevisha is having.
But i have just read through all replies and we are all being very selfish.
I too have loaded up my hand luggage and 'smuggled ' it on (usually upto 12kgs).
But what danger are we causing? I am sure planes have a 'buffer zone' for extra weight, but how much is too much???
Last february (3 trips ago) a couple we were travelling with, checked in 75kgs (small bribe was taken) but carried on another 35kg in hand luggage, yes this is correct as we weighed it all before we left hotel.
Recently another friend tried to carry on 2 bags with small limestone items as carry on, imagine the weight in that, anyway they didnt allow it and it had to be left behind (which i have arranged to be sent out with my frieght)
Imagine a full plane of people doing the same??
I think we should all be thankful for all the years we have been getting away with it.
Its like the 100km zone, we just have to go that little bit over and do 105 or 110km.
Well its the same for the baggage allowance, we are allowed 20kg, they let us get away with 25kg yet we are starting to push it even higher.
I will be in future sticking to 20-25kg, and 7kg carry on (it will be a challenge i can tell you!!!!) .....
how about on a lighter note, we post what we do to travel as light as possible on the return flight?
i'll get off my soap box now lol.
