The airport taxi drivers are not allowed to ply for business once they drop you in Kuta so they have a lot of down time just waiting at the airport. $45 to Kuta is more than the meter would be but at around $7 is still a bargain I think. Especially when you think how the fixed price thing has cut out the rip offs of new tourists who used often to pay much much more!!
'Cause I do have a vested interest in seeing the taxi driver's side of things because until recently, I was one.
