Do you really believe that the media is out to incite anger? This is an opinion given to the media whenever some on doesn't like what they see or hear. Some of the coverage has been sensational because the events were sensational. The 2002 bombings was a huge news story and the commercial television stations reacted accordingly by showing it like it was.
The commercial networks do a far better job giving us the news because they have more money to spend. The ABC @ SBS don't have the resources that the commercial networks have and often get vision and information from the commercial stations. As was the case during the 2002 bombings. (This is called pooling)
The contributing stations don't charge for this.
The warnings about travel to Bali comes from The Department of Foreign Affairs not the media.
And as it turned out their concerns were justified after the second bombings. Do we not publish this negative information and run the risk of endangering travellers to Bali? I think not.
